Downloading Videos and Photos from Threads
Threads runs on the same infrastructure as Instagram, which shapes exactly how downloading from it works.
Same backbone as Instagram
Threads was built by Meta on top of Instagram's account and media system, which is why a Threads post's public/private status mirrors the linked Instagram account exactly.
If the Instagram account is private, its Threads posts are private too, and vice versa.
Saving a video or photo
Copy the post's link from the share icon, then paste it into a downloader that handles Threads links — the process and output (MP4 for video, full-resolution image for photos) work the same as on Instagram.
Multi-image posts
Threads supports carousel-style posts with several images, similar to Instagram — each image currently needs to be saved individually rather than as one batch.
